Online world

Online world

Hello everyone!

So I go to a Group on Thursday, which is lots of fun and a place to really just chill out and forget about all your worries for a while and they have just added a bit on the end where we can discuss different subjects!

This week we discussed building up and tearing down.

This really got me thinking. The online world is an incredible place. They are petitions and campaigns running which can be signed by people all over the world to make a difference, there are people sharing their thoughts and feelings and having discussions with people who are literally on the other side of the world, Online people from all sorts of backgrounds, races, genders, ability come together and fight for what we stand for and believe in.

However… There is some people who take away from this wonderful experience by sharing hate instead. And my question is why?

Some people do it for attention, some people do it to bring others down to their level and others just do it because they feel lonely and need someone to either be with them or be near them.

Surely there is other ways to find someone to feel less lonely or other ways to get attention tho? If you are horrible, why do you get more attention? It doesn’t even make sense, but people fight for what they want and so if someone says something horrible, they will most likely be horrible back and this just doesn’t seem right.

I’ve read Zoe’s book again lately, Girl Online, which is about a girl who has an anonymous blog online, which is a bit like what I have. However, there is a ‘last’ blog post in the book which says:

‘Every time you post something online you have a choice. You can either make it something that adds to the happiness levels in the world-or you can make it something that takes away from them. … next time you go to post a comment or an update or share a link, ask yourself: is this going to add to the happiness in the world? And if the answer’s no, then please delete.’

Now this really hit home with me, Online is a huge world, which includes everyone, we don’t need more sadness in this world and for that reason, I ask you to follow this one piece of advice…

Think before you post.

I shall leave you with that.

Talk again soon!

I’m back!!!

Hey guys, Sorry i haven’t been here in ages. I have been busy as it is officially the holidays! (well it’s over now, i go back to college on the 8th).

Throughout the holidays I have had a lot going on and I have been very busy! I had my year 11 prom (I almost cried, multiple times, as i’m leaving my school 🙁 ), then I went to see my older sister and my newborn nephew, I also went to Fort William with my mum and two of her friends, went to Bletchley park with my Aunty, her partner and my mum, went down to my dad’s (Near Durham) and then to Bamburgh from there, had results day (EEK) and went to a festival! I think that’s everything! Haha!

Fort William its self wasn’t one of the nicest towns I’ve been to but our B&B was really nice and the views were absolutely amazing! ( http://www.seafieldhousefortwilliam.co.uk/ – in case you wondered). My prom was great and a really good way of saying goodbye, although very sad but very funny!

The festival was Solfest and it was on Solway firth near Aspatria and Silloth. It’s a fairly small family festival with lots of good acts, dancing and music! Which is just what i like 🙂 I always embrace the festival and hippyness! It’s great! One of the places where i feel right at home, which is always a really nice feeling.

Is there anywhere you feel really at home? or did you do interesting or new this summer? Let me know in the comments 🙂

I will be back to regularly uploading soon as i’ve just started college!
